Below, you will find important information about the treatment with Frequency-modulated Implant Acupuncture® / Frequency-modulated Brain Stimulation FBS®.
1. Consultation/Information
At the beginning of every treatment, we will have to have a lengthy meeting to inform you about and explain to you the procedure. We will discuss the process and answer all your questions. Sometimes, it may make sense to treat you with traditional body or ear acupuncture before implantation.
2. Medical health history / Examination
In order to select the proper points for implantation, it is mandatory to get an exact TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) history as well as a physical examination. In addition, the medical reports stating the medical specialist’s diagnosis of your illness are an important foundation for the choice of treatment. We will provide you with a TCM diagnosis after discussing your medical history with you and after the physical examination. It serves as a basis for selecting exactly the implantation points.
3. Searching for acupuncture points
Humans are not alike. Therefore, the points to be treated and their number vary from patient to patient and must be determined on an individual basis. Interference fields may exist which have to be treated prior to acupuncture. The point search itself is done by RAC (Reflex Auriculo Cardial) or with a resistor device.
Important: Only now do we know where and how many implant needles must be placed. The general notion is as little as possible, but as many as needed.
A CMR treatment carried out before an implantation helps to optimize the responsiveness to implants.
4. Implantation
The implantation is done under local anesthesia and sterile conditions. Both ears are thoroughly disinfected and covered with sterile material.
Subsequently, the needles are implanted in the predetermined points. The actual implantation is done with a so-called implantator, a device that releases the needles at the target point under brief pressure.
The punctures are covered with special band-aids.
5. Frequency-modulated Implant Acupuncture® / Frequency-modulated Brain Stimulation FBS®
Dr. Kreisel has developed and standardized this method of Frequency-modulated Implant Acupuncture® / Frequency-modulated Brain Stimulation FBS® during the past years of intensive research work. According to the experiences of Dr. Kreisel, the effectiveness of Resomer® implants can be increased by a stimulation with electromagnetic waves.
After the process of implantation has been completed, each individual implant is stimulated with pulsed (frequency-modulated) laser beams or magnetic fields. Prior to this treatment, all required frequencies are determined for each patient on an individual basis and depend on the respective clinical picture.
If required, a frequency-modulated stimulation of implants can be repeated even months after the process of implantation.
6. Side effects
Overall, this procedure is safe and has very little side effects. All materials have been adapted to the needs of tissue and have been used in orthopedics for decades.
During the actual implantation, you may experience a slight puncture pain. All other examinations and treatment steps are painless.
In rare cases, the treatment can cause skin irritation, hematoma (bruising), inflammations, or damage to the ear’s cartilage. In a few cases, the implant may be lost within the first days after implantation. As soon as the implants start becoming effective, there may be side effects from the medication you take, because the dosage of these may now be too high. Those medications should then be reduced under the care of a physician.
In some cases, additional implants may be necessary a few months after treatment.
A stimulation of the implants during a Frequency-modulated Implant Acupuncture therapy / Frequency-modulated Brain Stimulation FBS therapy is competely free of side effects.
7. Documentation
Our laws demand an exact and scientific record of the entire treatment. Therefore, both, treatment and therapy results are thus documented in detail for each patient.
After the treatment, you will receive a patient folder with recommended post-treatment instructions as well as a pass, which provides information on the implant used.
8. Follow up
Part of the treatment is a steady follow up for several months. It is usually done by phone. Three to six months after your initial treatment, there will be a follow up examination, if necessary.
