Dr. Kreisel, a pioneer when it comes to the development of implant acupuncture and the introduction of frequency modulation, counts among the leading international experts in this field.
Only highly qualified and certified acupuncture physicians should use this challenging therapeutical method as it requires plenty of experience and accuracy. As scientific adviser and assistant professor for the International Network for Controlled Implant Acupuncture INAURIS, Dr. Kreisel imposes standards for highest quality regarding education and application of the method.
For more than centuries, Chinese physicians have treated chronically ill patients by inserting absorbable collagen fibers derived from the intestines of mammals under the skin at certain points on the auricle. This permanent exposure to stimuli at certain acupuncture points on the ear was said to treat illnesses long-term and alleviate pain.
Today, people with chronic diseases often need to take medications regularly and permanently. Unfortunately, this alleviates many symptoms only insufficiently. In addition, many medications have severe side effects, under which patients suffer.
The implant acupuncture (IA) offers new options and alternatives in those cases. This revolutionary method, which is based on the above referenced permanent acupuncture, was rediscovered over the past years and advanced by Dr. Kreisel as so-called Frequency-modulated Implant Acupuncture® respectively Frequency-modulated Brain Stimulation FBS®.
For this treatment, tiny titanium needles or needles of soluble Resomer® are directly placed under the skin of the auricle to stay permanently in the ear.
In contrast to traditional needle acupuncture, these implants stimulate the central nervous system permanently and release various messengers such as dopamine, serotonin and endorphin increasingly.
Specifically in chronic, difficult to treat clinical pictures such as Parkinson’s disease, Restless-Legs Syndrome (RLS), multiple sclerosis, various pain syndromes, migraine, tinnitus, and certain eye diseases such as macular degeneration and retinitis centralis serosa the results can be quite amazing.
About 400 acupuncture points are found on the auricle which corresponds to certain organs and structures of the body. Before implantation, all regions of the ear have to be examined systematically for active points. As these points are tiny (0.2 – 0.3 mm), the search for acupuncture points and the implantation process itself have to be done as exactly as possible.
Implant acupuncture may not be confused with acupuncture using permanent needles.
